John Birrenbach
Began his business career in 1983 with the opening of Birrenbach's Tropical Birds. A tropical bird importing, captive breeding and wholesale & mail order sales operation. Selling a variety of species of birds (from finches to cockatoo's) and breeding everything from canaries to parrots. In 1985 he entered the retail mail-order selling of merchandise for companion birds. In 1985 produced his first catalog and sold merchandise via mail order before closing in 1989.
In 1986 John went to work for a Convenience Store Chain and was trained in management for the chain of stores. During this training he learned how to spot employee theft, ordering, stocking, advertising, promotions, and the use of various techniques for operating successful retail operations. John was advanced out of his class and placed in a store that had sales decrease over the past year. Within 4 months sales were back in line with previous highs, and continued to increase, along with profits.
- In 1987 John Birrenbach used the talents he learned from his work in retail sales and assisted his then wife in the opening of Executive Coffee & Tea and began using his marketing talents to promote the store. The store showed profitable sales from the very first day of operation and continues operation to this day.
Through the years he has further developed his techniques which have shown positive results in increasing sales for many businesses.
- In 1990 John put, Executive Coffee & Tea, on the internet. Complete with information about various coffees, teas and coupons for the store. As the abilities of the Internet have expanded he added many things to the web site including secure online ordering, and multimedia presentations of coffee production. He used the site to gather awards for design and content, and continued to increase sales for the coffeeshop.
Advertising & Promotion
- John Birrenbach has developed over many years the ability to develop Advertising, Promotion and media campaigns which have been very successful. An accomplished writer (published in several books, numerous magazine articles, and other news media), John is able to produce materials that are informative and useful or Announcements to the media which attract attention. In 1996 John assisted in the opening of the second location of Executive Coffee & Tea in the US Bank Trust Center Building. John has been responsible for very positive media and public relations for the operation. In one instance was able to gather hundreds of people 3 TV stations, 2 Radio stations, 1 Newspaper article that he was able to track as a result of his abilities to find a Unique angle or hook.
Consulting Work
- In 1996 John began using his many developed talents to help other Business in a Consulting capacity. With his expertise in running so many different kinds of businesses and ability to look with "Fresh Eyes" he began consulting for others. He has consulted for internet companies, food establishments, software designers, retail establishments, and other types of companies.
